She hung the white dress on its satin hanger in front of a window, using the morning light to inspect it. The delicate Italian lace overlay cast intricate shadows across the walls. She ran her fingers up and down the tiny silk wrapped buttons that fastened the bodice of the gown. It was exquisite and in pristine condition, just as the seller had described. She smiled as she quickly entered a glowing review on eBay. Dropping her robe to the floor, she gently undid the tiny buttons before taking it off the hanger. She then very carefully stepped into it and slid her arms through the sheer sleeves. Her heels were in reach, and she put them on as well. The dress fit perfectly. She stood in front of the mirror and buttoned the tiny buttons slowly and with care. The corseted top was snug and she sucked in her waistline as it gradually formed to her body. She pulled her hair up with a scrunchie and picked up the matching veil which she softly attached with its comb. Pulling the veil over her face, she posed in front of the full length mirror, the morning light casting a soft glow around her room. She felt giddy with excitement. She turned around and glimpsed the back, fluffing out the chiffon train. Adjusting the sleeves and smoothing the front of the dress, she picked up her phone and took a few selfies of the white dress from various angles. She then took a close-up of her face through the veil before tossing the phone onto her bed. Removing the dress, she was cautious and deliberate with each piece, and put the white dress and veil back on the hanger before gently hanging it in the closet.
As she went through the selfies, she smiled as she admired the way the dress looked on her. She got to her selfie in the veil and gasped with alarm at the face that peered back at her; an ancient woman with deep set hazel eyes, leathered skin and a toothless grin. She glanced in the mirror at herself, and saw her own pale face with blue eyes staring back at her.
