Putting Life on Pause

Has your life ever been halted, the proverbial rug yanked out from beneath your bare feet? Suddenly, you find yourself thrown into the unknown and living in limbo. Forced relocation, job loss, identity theft, illness, accidents, the death of a loved one or even a bad breakup; anything that tosses you out into the atmosphere where you’re left floating in the ether. Untethered. On a rare good day, this can seem to be a place of ultimate freedom, with endless possibilities and opportunities. However, it’s mostly a terrifying and paralyzing experience.

Anger, sadness, frustration and a silent lonliness creeps in, threatening to undermine your entire being. It’s ‘just a phase’ you tell yourself on a good day, but on other days it feels like the end. It’s so easy to completely forget all of your accomplishments, and just sink into the depths of despair, feeling like an utter failure at life.

What do you do to harness a semblance of hope? I’m taking suggestions.
